Children in the era of the Holocaust represent a very specific group and their destinies, captured from their own testimonies are just as specific. They are the youngest generation of people who can say “we have survived the Holocaust and we are ready to tell you our stories”. The chosen group of fifteen stories of children of the Holocaust certainly isn’t a representative sample of the destinies of children on the territory of Slovakia. The selection was conditioned by the willingness of the men and women joined by the same destiny to cooperate, to disclose their stories and make them public and was also conditioned by the strive to introduce a variety of life trials, environments and situations, which they were exposed to as children.
